Letter, Josiah Miller to Father and Mother Author: Miller, Josiah Date: January 4, 1855 Josiah Miller, having arrived in Kansas Territory in August 1854, wrote to his father and mother in South Carolina about their impending journey to Kansas Territory. He offered them various suggestions on what provisions to bring and what routes to take, as they would be making the trip by wagon and not by railroad and boat. Miller also discussed his parents' options regarding land purchase and rent once they arrive in the new territory.
